Principles and Values - the basics
Having said that, the principles and values of San Jose Rotary of Jax are meant to establish the ethical standards and guidelines for engagement with the organization. They are defined by the organization to govern the activities of its members and the community. These principles and values are meant to establish the ethical relationship between the members and the organization. The principles and values should be defined according to the specific needs and nature of the organization and its engagement with the community. Principles and values provide the organization the ability to uphold high ethical standards and protect itself from potential ethical exposure.
What to include in the Principles and Values document
Generally speaking, the principles and values often address these types of issues: Who is allowed to become a member of the organization; the ethical standards and guidelines for participation; a declaration that the organization may adapt its services and projects in the future; the types of humanitarian services and initiatives the organization engages in; a reference to issues of community impact and goodwill; the organization's right to address ethical breaches or misconduct; and much, much more.
