The Playoffs

The San Jose Rotary Pool will continue the pool through the playoffs through the Super Bowl. The following will be the format.

 

January 12: Wild Card Weekend

We will utilize the same three-game format as we did during the regular season.  We will use the three Sunday games for this contest. Pick your 3 teams and a total point score for the six teams competing in the three Sunday games.

The winner must pick the 3 winning teams. If more than one person picks the three winners, we will go to the tiebreaker.

Tiebreaker # 1 total points scored on the number

Tiebreaker #2 Closest to the total points scored without exceeding the total points scored number.

Ties thereafter will spilt the pot.
If no player correctly picks the three winners or if all players who correctly picked the three winners exceed the total points scored, we have a Rollover. The funds will be applied to the Jan 19 pot.

 

January 18 +19: The Division Round

There are four Division Round games. We will use 3 of 4 games and play our standard 3 game format.  The games chosen will be the late game on Saturday Jan 18, and the two games on Jan 19.

The winner will be the player that picks the 3 winners. If more than one person picks the three winners, we will go to the tiebreaker.

Tiebreaker # 1 total points scored on the number

Tiebreaker #2 Closest to the total points scored without exceeding the total points scored number.

Ties thereafter will spilt the pot.

If no player correctly picks the three winners or if all players who correctly picked the three winners exceed the total points scored, we have a Rollover. The funds will be applied to the Jan 26 pot.

 

January 26: Conference Championship

There will only be two games for the conference championship.

The format will go to a two-game format, pick the two teams and the total-points scored in the two games.

The winner will be the player who selects both winners, if more than one player selects both winners we will proceed to the tiebreaker.

Tiebreaker #1 Total Points scored.

Tiebreaker #2 Closest to the total points scored without exceeding the total points scored number.

Ties thereafter will spilt the pot.

If no player correctly picks the three winners or if all players who correctly picked the three winners exceed the total points scored, we will have a Rollover. The funds will then be applied to the Super Bowl Pot.

 

February 9: The Super Bowl

There will only be one winning team and one winner hopefully!

Each player will choose a team.

Each player will enter total-points scored by both teams for all of the four individual quarters.

Quarter 1_____

Quarter 2_____

Quarter 3_____

Quarter 4_____

 

The winner must have picked the winning team. If there are multiple players who have selected the winning team, we will go to the tiebreaker.

Tie breaker #1 Total Points scored.

Tie breaker #2 Closest to the total points scored without exceeding the total points scored number.

Tiebreaker # 3  The total points scored in Quarter 4

Tiebreaker #4 The total points scored in Quarter 3

Tiebreaker # 5  The total points scored in Quarter 2

Tiebreaker #6 The total points scored in Quarter 1

 

If there are still ties, the remaining tied players will spilt the pot evenly.

 

Payments

Each game will remain a 50/50 spilt.

Each game will cost $20 to play.

Please pay by VENMO or as you paid to play during the regular season.

$20 a game or $80 for the playoffs and Super Bowl.
